Administrative process/ Regulatory Affairs

Reguls act as "matchmaker": policy makers and officials need to be able to depend on the input of companies in order to develop rules for those companies that are practically feasible. Companies need rules that are easy to abide by and rules that make it possible for an entrepreneur to compete. Reguls offers these parties the means to a dialogue to exchange experience and to share knowledge. The same applies for stakeholders and regulators. Reguls also offers them and companies a platform to exchange ideas.

Lobby / political process

On a political level the interests of individual companies are much more specific than during the initial administrative process, where all the contours of new regulation have already been set. A company is given the opportunity to differentiate from competitors by lobbying for amendment of a certain proposal in a specific matter.

At the administrative level this is different. The more businesses participate in the dialogue, the more influence and impact these companies have on new laws and regulation. At this level, companies in a sector do not competed but need to combine powers. The contours are set for the entire industry and therefore they are stronger acting as one.

Reguls chooses to ensure this essential difference between the administrative process and the political process by outsourcing the operational lobby for customers to reputable lobbyists in The Hague and Brussels.

At the request of politicians Reguls will also inform them about the administrative process prior to the lobby. At the start of the political process it is not uncommon that politicians lack information about the administrative process. Precisely this information is important to politicians and experience has shown that politicians have a need for this particular information. Reguls provides them with this.

Implementation / Compliance

After regulation is adopted, companies have to implement the rules into their organization. Reguls helps companies develop practical manuals and a clear form of internal monitoring. On request Reguls evaluates the companies’ existing internal audit and compliance structure.
Reguls listens, analyses and reports back to the person within the company responsible for its compliance policies.
